How to enable Gemini Nano in Google Pixel 8

Gemini Nano is coming to Google Pixel 8 with some cool on-device AI features. While Pixel 8 Pro already supports the LLM, Google revealed that it’s bringing the tech to the standard Pixel 8 as Developer Preview.

Google confirmed to AndroidAuthority that Pixel 8 users have to enable Gemini Nano through Developer Settings. To activate Developer Options, head to your phone’s Settings > About phone > Tap the build number 7 times.

Do note that you may not find any Gemini Nano toggle inside the Developer Options. The company disclosed that the feature will be rolled out to the Pixel 8 with the next Feature Drop, which could be coming in June 2024.

Thanks to the Gemini Nano model, the Pixel 8 will get new on-device AI features such as Smart Reply capabilities in Gboard. To maintain the top-notch performance, Gemini Nano is coming to regular Pixel as Developer Preview.
