Pixel Watch Gets Cool New Updates: Better steps, health tools, and more

The March 2025 update for the Pixel Watch is here, bringing some handy changes to its health features. A smarter system now helps all Pixel Watch models count your steps more accurately. It’s better at figuring out what you’re doing—like pushing a stroller, rolling a shopping cart or wheelchair, or hiking with poles—instead of just assuming you’re walking.

For the Pixel Watch 3, there’s a new feature to track your menstrual cycle right on the device. You can log your period, check where you are in your cycle, and even get a heads-up about when your next one might start. Google also shared that Loss of Pulse Detection is coming to the US later this month after getting the green light from the US Food and Drug Administration.

This feature on the Pixel Watch 3 can spot if your heart stops due to serious issues like a heart attack, breathing problems, or an overdose. If you don’t respond to a warning, it’ll call emergency services for you. Another cool addition is Auto Bedtime Mode for the Pixel Watch 2. It kicks in when it notices you’re asleep, turning off the screen, silencing notifications, and saving battery. Once you wake up and start moving, it switches back to normal.

Plus, Google added some fun audio controls for the Pixel Watch. Now, you can skip forward or rewind your favorite songs, tweak the playback speed, or manage your playlist right from your wrist. These updates make the Pixel Watch even more helpful for keeping an eye on your health and staying connected, all while feeling simple and easy to use.
