Fitbit app updates water tracking feature

After refreshing the Weight stats section last November, Fitbit is now improving how Android users track their water intake. Certain users have noticed a new Water page with four simple tabs at the top: Day, Week, Month, and Year. Before this change, there was a list showing entries from newest to oldest, and the top chart gave options for Week, Month, 3 Months, and Year views. The old light blue status bar now feels outdated compared to this sleeker design.

The update brings a fresh, modern style that matches other stats in the app. However, the “Quick Add For Today” option is no longer on the main Water page. This might annoy users who liked adding their water intake directly there. Instead, they can now use the main floating action button (FAB) menu or an app shortcut. Tapping the FAB opens a new “Log water” screen, offering easy choices like Glass (8 fl oz), Bottle (16 fl oz), or Large bottle (24 fl oz) with plus and minus buttons.

There’s also a “Custom amount” field at the bottom, and you can change the date at the top.
This Water update is showing up for some users with Fitbit version 4.38, but it depends on a server-side switch that hasn’t reached everyone yet. Once it’s fully available, Fitbit should consider refreshing the Food section next and giving Health Metrics a proper app-friendly design.
