Google drops a cool ‘Severance’ surprise before the big season two finale

The second season of Severance is wrapping up soon, and because the show is a massive hit, Google has thrown in a neat little surprise for fans to enjoy.

A Fun Severance Treat on Google

Ben Stiller, the show’s director, pointed out that if you search “Severance” on Google, a bunch of blue balloons will float across your screen. This cute nod ties back to the blue Lumon balloons Mr. Milchick hands to Mark S. when he steps back into the office. You’ll spot those balloons in a few scenes from the second season’s first episode too.

Want to check it out? Just hop onto Google from your phone or computer, type in “Severance,” and hit the confetti button to watch the balloons pop up.

Before the second season kicked off in January, Apple rolled out a fun webpage where you can snap or upload a photo and slap your face onto one of Lumon’s blue balloons. They even splashed balloon pics across the Apple.com homepage to hype up the show.

Apple says Severance has smashed all records on Apple TV+, zooming past Ted Lasso to claim the title of the platform’s most-watched show ever. The second season’s debut also gave Apple TV+ subscriptions a nice boost in January compared to December.

If you’re new to it, Severance is a sci-fi series about workers at a company who sign up for a program that splits their job memories from their home-life ones. The final episode of season two hits Apple TV+ next Thursday night. While there’s no official word on a third season yet, Ben Stiller has hinted that the writers are already cooking up ideas for another round. So, go ahead and have fun with every search result you stumble across!
