Google Search page now shows quick access to other Google tools
Google has quietly updated its main search page, google.com, with a new shortcut bar that links to other Google services like Gmail, YouTube, and Maps. This change helps users quickly jump to popular tools without having to open a new tab or type in a different web address.
The shortcut bar now appears just below the search box once the page fully loads. It shows icons for several Google apps, starting with the most used ones. If you’re signed in to your Google account, the shortcuts may reflect your personal usage — for example, if you use Google Drive often, it might show up early in the row.
This new feature works on both desktop and mobile browsers. On mobile, you’ll need to scroll sideways to see more icons.
While Google already had an app launcher grid in the top-right corner of most of its services, this change brings quicker access directly on the homepage. It seems like a small update, but it can save time for people who visit google.com often.
The update is rolling out gradually, so not everyone may see it right away. Still, it’s a clear move by Google to make its tools easier to reach and more visible for everyday users.
