Pixel 9a test unit shows a strange selfie camera bug
Google’s upcoming Pixel 9a phone is already being tested by some people, and one of them has found a strange problem with the front camera. A video shared online shows that the selfie camera has a bug that causes the whole screen to turn green for a moment when switching to it.
The short clip shows someone opening the camera app and switching from the back to the front camera. As they do that, the screen flashes completely green for a second before the actual selfie view appears. This issue seems to happen only the first time the front camera is turned on.
This bug is only showing up on a test unit of the Pixel 9a, so Google may fix it before the phone is officially released. Test devices often have early versions of software, which can include small problems like this. That said, it’s a good sign that people are already testing the Pixel 9a, meaning the launch might not be far off.
Google is expected to reveal the Pixel 9a at its I/O 2025 event in May, just like previous “a” series phones. Hopefully, this camera issue will be fixed by then. The Pixel 9a is expected to bring improvements while still being more affordable than the regular Pixel models.
