Google Photos is getting easier ways to share and celebrate memories

Google Photos is adding some handy new features that make sharing and remembering special moments simpler and more personal.

One big update is a new way to share albums using QR codes. Instead of copying links or inviting people manually, you can now create a QR code from your shared album. Friends or family just have to scan the code to open the album instantly. This feature is especially helpful when you’re with others in person — no need to text links or email them.

To use it, go to a shared album, tap the three-dot menu, then choose “Invite.” There, you’ll see an option to create a QR code. It works with Google Photos version 6.79 or newer.

Google is also getting ready for Mother’s Day with a new “Mother’s Day Memories” feature. Just like the usual Memories at the top of the app, this one highlights photos and videos featuring mothers. The app automatically selects these based on your photo history. It’s a sweet way to look back on meaningful moments with mom.

These updates show how Google wants to make Photos more than just a place to store pictures. By helping you easily share memories and celebrate important people in your life, the app becomes more personal and thoughtful.

Make sure your app is updated to enjoy these new features.
