Google Pixel phones will get Call Cast and WiFi/Hotspot Sharing features
Google is readying new “cross-device services” features for its products. Recently, it has been discovered that Google Play Services has a Cross-Device Services section. Features that are coming to Google Play Services include Call Cast, WiFi Sharing, and Hotspot Sharing.
It appears like Google could expand Cross-Device Services beyond the existing Chromebook integration, as part of offering better multi-device experience across products. The new Cross-Device Services section could join the Play Services settings and be serviceable as “Devices & sharing.”
Call Cast feature will likely enable you to share video calls across connected devices. Moreover, an “Internet Sharing” function will allow you to easily and conveniently share a Hotspot connection, extending the support from the WiFi Sharing tool.
It’s uncertain when Google will push these new tools to products. However, X user AssembleDebug managed to access them in Play Services v24.06.12, but after enabling a lot of flags. Have a look at the video showcasing the newly coming Cross-Device Services features:
