Xiaomi Watch 2 takes aim at Google, Samsung’s Wear OS smartwatches with half price
Google and Samsung are offering the best Wear OS smartwatches, equipped with innovative health features. Meanwhile, Xiaomi Watch 2 is preparing to aim at Google and Samsung’s Wear OS smartwatches – Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch – with half price tag.
Following the Watch 2 Pro, Xiaomi will soon launch an affordable Wear OS watch – Watch 2. Ahead of the official unveiling, the smartwatch was spotted on a handful of European retail websites as well as the key specifications have been revealed.
Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro brings a physical rotating bezel, the same as Samsung’s Classic variant offers. However, the upcoming Xiaomi Watch 2 doesn’t feature a physical rotating bezel and offers a simpler design as well as a great chipset at half of the price of the Pixel Watch.
The Watch 2 reportedly brings a 1.43-inch circular AMOLED display with 466×466 pixel resolution and measures 47.6 x 45.9 x 11.8mm. Furthermore, it comes with 5ATM water resistance and features support for health tracking features such as heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep tracking, and more.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Watch 2 is tipped to use a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 processor, offering up to 65 hours of battery life. As far as the pricing is concerned, the Xiaomi Watch 2 could cost between €199 and €219 in Europe, whereas the Google Pixel Watch 2 comes at €399.
We may see the Xiaomi Watch 2 at Mobile World Congress 2024 later this month.
