Apple could launch its next affordable iPhone model next year. Now, it has been rumored that the Apple iPhone SE (2025) will be equipped with an OLED screen. Samsung Display, BOE, and Tianma have proposed their prices to Apple for OLED panels.

Strong signs that Apple is planning to upgrade the next SE with OLED screen next year. TheElec sources say that Samsung Display proposed a unit price of $30, BOE offered $35, and Tianma $40. However, the US tech giant is countering with $20 and their negotiation is still ongoing.

The OLED panel for the iPhone SE 4 will likely be the same one as those used in the iPhone 14 back in 2022. Notably, the OLED panel prices are considerably lower than those of iPhone 15 as OLED panels for iPhone SE 2025 will use recycled parts and legacy techs.

Samsung Display can use its existing iPhone 14 OLED inventory to respond to demand from iPhone SE4, putting it at an advantage over rivals. Meanwhile, for BOE any gains from winning more orders for the next year’s Apple iPhone SE are needed.
