WhatsApp profile photos now screenshot-proof
WhatsApp will soon disable your phone’s capability to screenshot profile photos. The platform has recently reached Beta version 2.24.4.25 on the Beta channel, bringing significant enhancements to user privacy.
The WhatsApp Beta 2.24.4.25 introduces a new privacy feature to block a screenshot of profile photos. On the latest Beta, a notification appears indicating that the action has been blocked while taking a screenshot.

In the past, the WhatsApp app had a feature to allowed users to save a copy of visible profile photos directly to the Gallery. Around five years ago, the platform removed the profile photo-saving feature from the application.
Now, with its latest attempt, WhatsApp adding an extra layer of privacy protection by preventing users from capturing and sharing profile photos without the owner’s consent, addressing the loophole that existed previously.
The restriction hasn’t been rolled out widely.
