Battery drain nightmare haunts Google Pixel 8 Pro, Spotify suspected

Battery drain is a common problem on Google Pixel phones. As Google continues to improve its Tensor chip, Pixel phones are becoming power efficient. Now, Spotify is suspected of excessive battery drain on Google Pixel 8 Pro.

According to user comments on the Spotify Community page (via Phandroid), Spotify may have been draining the battery of the Google Pixel 8 Pro, whereas a clean reinstall is said to be addressing the problem.

Commenting on a community post created by a Pixel 8 Pro user in October 2023, many others confirmed to be facing excessive battery draining on their units, with Pixel 8 also affected by the problem.

A Spotify community moderator recommends Google Pixel 8 Pro users perform a clean reinstall of the app to improve the battery life. Clean reinstall refers to an app’s uninstall and reinstall through the official app store.

Following the postage workaround, some users found the battery life improved on their Pixel 8 Pro. At the same time, the situation remained the same on others, indicating the clean reinstall isn’t a proper fix to the problem.
