Gemini Nano x MediaTek: Dimensity 9300, 8300 chips fuel On-device Gen AI to mobile
MediaTek is gradually expanding its presence in the smartphone market. As the era of On-device & Gen AI is popularizing, MediaTek today announced that Dimensity 9300, and 8300 chips are optimized for Gemini Nano.
In its press release on February 22, the Taiwanese chip maker announced that MediaTek and Google plan to unveil an APK running on Dimensity 9300 and 8300 to aid developers and OEMs in deploying Gemini Nano applications.

MediaTek disclosed that it worked with Google to successfully integrate and optimize Gemini Nano to run effectively and efficiently on the Dimensity 9300 and 8300 chipsets.
Gemini Nano is Google’s Large Language Model (LLM) designed to bring on-device Generative AI to mobile. MediaTek also worked with Google to port Gemini Nano to MediaTek APU to improve performance.
On-device Generative AI provides several advantages such as seamless performance, greater privacy, better security and reliability, lower latency, and the ability to work in areas with little to no connectivity.
