Honor Flip foldable phone launching this year

Honor will be the next to launch Flip-style foldable phone this year. The company’s CEO confirmed to CNBC that their first vertical-folding smartphone coming in 2024, which could compete with Samsung and Motorola.

The Chinese phone maker has recently debuted its book-style foldable phone in the global market. As Honor continues to eye the premium segment, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip rival might help it to gain momentum.

“This year we are preparing for the flip phone launch — now that we are internally in the final stage,” George Zhao, CEO of Honor, told CNBC.

Flippable phones are comparatively cheaper than foldable smartphones. Samsung sells millions of Flip phones, thanks to aggressive pricing. Seeing this, Honor is expecting potential growth from a newer form factor segment.
