Pixel Satellite SOS feature appears on more Google phones!
Google Pixel phones will soon be getting a Satellite SOS feature. The company has been testing it before initiating the rollout. However, the feature is appearing on more and more Google Pixel models across the world.
My Pixel 7 Pro (running Android 14 QPR3 Beta) and Pixel 6 (running Android 15 DP1) silently got the Satellite SOS feature. The section is added in the phone’s Safety and emergency settings menu but is not functional.
Apple debuted the Satellite Connectivity feature with the iPhone 14 Pro series. Later on, Chinese phone makers made it a basic function of their flagship devices, while Samsung is staying away from bringing it to Galaxy flagships.
Google, on the other hand, appears to be bringing the Satellite SOS feature to many Pixel models. Last year, it was rumored to be an Android 14 feature but missed the public release with the OS’s rollout.
