Google is preparing cross-device connectivity features for Android devices. Now, AndroidAuthority discovered code strings and code changes hinting at how Android’s Call Transfer feature could function.

Google Play Services v24-08-12 teardown reveals Android is preparing to add a Call Transfer feature. Google Meet could be the only app initially to support call transfer across Android devices with the same account logged in.

Users will be able to transfer Google Meet video calls from one device to another. Since it mentions “apps like Google Meet,” it’s assumed that the ability to transfer calls would be supported on other video-calling apps shortly.

Besides, Call Cast, which also surfaced in the past, is also mentioned in the code strings. It will likely be available as a separate feature for switching devices during audio calls, but anything can’t be confirmed as of now.
