OnePlus Open foldable smartphone started getting Android 14 update in the US. Google will release Android 15 Developer Preview 2 this month, while the first OnePlus foldable is receiving its first major OS upgrade.

Back in October 2023, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Open foldable phone. It entered the market when Google also launched the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, pre-equipped with the Android 14 operating system.

Earlier this year, the Chinese phone maker initiated the rollout of the Android 14 update to Open foldable. Meanwhile, it took about two months to expand to the United States.

This huge update weighs 2.54GB and brings several new features along with the February 2024 security patch. The rollout is expanding to Open users sequentially, hence, the availability may vary.

Compared to Samsung and Google, OnePlus still lags behind in terms of software offerings for foldable. Galaxy foldables are way too innovative from the software end too, while Google also gives tough competition.
