Google Pixel Watch 3 to bring faster Watch Unlock with UWB

Google Pixel Watch 3 might supercharge the Watch Unlock feature with the inclusion of ultra-wideband (UWB) connectivity. The Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 offer a Watch Unlock feature, leveraging Bluetooth technology.

However, Google is reportedly working to fuel ultra-wideband (UWB) technology in the Pixel Watch 3. 9to5Google discovered that the company has steadily introduced new code to upgrade Watch Unlock to use UWB.

Since UWB has not yet been approved in some countries, the Watch Unlock will be disabled if you travel to an unsupported country. Bluetooth-powered Watch Unlock works pretty cool, but UWB will make it even more faster.

To make use of this upgraded Watch Unlock feature, your Pixel phone should also have UWB installed. The first-gen Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2 lack UWB, but the next iteration is likely to be fueled with this technology.

Google Pixel Watch 3 could be available in two different dial sizes. The company is expected to bring a 45mm variant, with Android 14-based Wear OS 5 software will be pre-installed in the Watch 3.
