Google’s latest Android 14 Beta seems to have broken the Pixel 8 Pro’s 50MP photo mode. Users report that the phone no longer saves 5x zoomed images at a 50-megapixel resolution.

The Pixel 8 Pro brings a 50-megapixel primary, a 48-megapixel ultrawide, and a 48-megapixel Telephoto camera. The phone’s functionality will surely shift the lens to Telephoto as soon as the user zooms 5x or above.

While users are concerned about high-resolution photography with Telephoto cameras, it has been reported that Google is investigating the concern, as there are many complaints have been registered on the channel.

The problem is said to have emerged in the recently released Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 update. Photography lovers are rolling back to the previous build as they use the Pixel 8 Pro mainly for camera purposes.

The phone is still capable of saving high-res photos when zoomed less than 5x. Attempts to capture 50MP images using the dedicated telephoto lens above 5x zoom result in the photos failing to save, reports PiunikaWeb.
