Google Pixel 9 to debut OnePlus 12’s Aqua Touch as Adaptive Touch feature
Google is developing an advanced Adaptive Touch feature for the Pixel 9 series. Inspired by OnePlus 12’s Aqua Touch, Google’s next-generation Pixel phones will likely introduce a new Adaptive Touch feature.
As reported by MishaalRahman, Google Pixel 9 may ship with the Adaptive Touch feature. The company’s older smartphones are unlikely to get the upgraded screen protector mode feature via software updates.
Per the description hidden behind codes, when Adaptive Touch is enabled, “touch sensitivity will automatically adjust to your environment, activities, and screen protector.”
By debuting an advanced touch sensitivity feature, Google aims to improve the accessibility of the Pixel 9 series, even in rain. More details will come out before the unveiling of the Pixel 9 lineup, but nothing is certain for now.
Finally: Google has enabled display output on a Pixel phone for the first time!
With Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2, you can mirror your Pixel 8's screen to an external display, as Google has finally enabled DisplayPort Alternate Mode.
