Android 15 to allow Google Pixel 9 to be tracked even in Power off state
Google Pixel 9 series featuring Android 15 would be able to be tracked even in Power off state. A new report indicates that the latest Android operating system is coming with a new Powered Off Finder API.
The Powered Off Finder API in Android 15 will enable the Google Pixel 9 series to be tracked even when switched off. The API would allow devices to continue sending Bluetooth beacons after the Android system is shut down.
Thankfully, compatible devices would be located when they’re powered off or out of battery. The Bluetooth chip could probably require some power reserved in the fuel box as part of sending signals to nearby active devices.
Google Play Services will use this Powered Off Finder API to send precomputed “Finder Network” keys to the device’s Bluetooth chip so it can continue broadcasting to other nearby devices on Android’s upgraded Find My Device network.
