Google Chrome testing Bottom Bar feature for Android
Google Chrome app for Android seems to be testing a Bottom Bar feature. It has been revealed Chrome Canary 124 brought a bottom bar feature that will only be available for custom Chrome tabs launched through the Google app.
The new Bottom Bar feature of Google Chrome for Android could consist of specific options and buttons for Search activities. Shortcuts like Lens, Discover, Search, and Saved could be shortcuts provided on the bottom interface.
A report says that the bottom bar on Chrome might have more limitations compared to the bottom navigation on Chrome for iOS. The company will likely bring back bottom bar functionality to make activities smoother.
The addition of a bottom bar interface will make Google’s popular web browser more user-friendly. You can take a look at the feature that is currently hidden behind Chrome flags and can be accessed on rooted phones only.
Google is working on a bottom bar for Chrome custom tabs on Android, but (at least for now) it will only be available on custom tabs that are opened through the Google app:https://t.co/qJ8lLXQ94E
