Google Messages will display name, user profiles for phone numbers
Google Messages will allow users to discover people (user profiles) through phone numbers. Recently, it was spotted that the application is getting ready to add the profile discovery through phone numbers.
X user AssembleDebug posted a screenshot, showcasing the availability of new Google Messages ability to search for user profiles through phone numbers. Notably, the new functionality is not live for all users for the time being.
It looks like Google Messages will allow search for people on Google Messages through phone numbers if they have created their Google account using the phone number and have made it visible/discoverable.
Sending SMS to any phone number is already a basic feature on the Messages app. However, entering a phone number and get the name of the user assigned with the phone number will enhance the user experience.
We will update you if Google pushes it to Public.
You can just type random numbers for new conversation and Google Message will show up the name and profile picture associated with it . This happens if the number added to a Google account and have a profile. It is related to Profiles feature in Google Messages. pic.twitter.com/4w90rU4QKF
