Google trademarks its iconic G logo in the US

Gadgets made by Google boast an iconic G logo, which is now a registered trademark in the US. The company has recently filed a trademark for its G logo in the United States, security the iconic design trait 9to5Google reports.

Apple products come with Apple’s unique logo, and Samsung slaps the brand name. Over the years, manufacturers made notable changes to the design and form factor of products, but brand identity remained the same.

Pixel 6 series debuted Google’s brand new design language, which is going to evolve with the Pixel 9 series. However, the search engine giant will keep flaunting its identity using the iconic G logo on the middle of the back panel.

In the included image, you can see the logo placed on a phone resembling the Pixel 8. To be noted, the paperwork explicitly notes that the outline depicts a generic device as an example of where the “G” would typically be placed.
