Google Pixel Launcher Search settings not functional after March 2024 Feature Drop
Google Pixel Launcher app’s Search settings are no longer functional following the March 2024 Feature Drop. The ability to restrict results from certain sources seems to have broken after the recent software update.
Pixel Launcher app in Google phones allows users to enable/disable Search results like People from contacts and apps from the Play Store. The toggles are still available in the same settings section but there’s no impact enabling or disabling any.
To enter Pixel Launcher Settings, long-press on the home screen then tap Home settings > Search settings. This section allows you to customize what “Search results” appear:
- People: Show suggestions from your contacts and more
- Google Play Store: Show suggestions from the Google Play Store
It has been reported that the Search settings are not working on Pixel smartphones. Even if the toggles are disabled, the Launcher’s search displays results from People and Play Store. Hopefully, Google will address the issue with the April 2024 software update.
