Google Messages gets Material 3 slider for voice recordings
Google Messages rolling out the Material 3 slider for voice recordings. With the latest Google Messages Beta (v20240312_00_RC00), the Material 3 slider has been deployed on voice recordings playback UI.
The revamped slider has a pill-shaped timeline, which is rather thick, and a vertical line for the handle. Notably, there’s a physical gap between the slider handle and the active/inactive track.
The handle’s verticle line, surprisingly, does not animate when selected/dragged. However, a dot at the end serves as the inactive track stop indicator. The previous UI was just a thin line and circle for the play head.
