Samsung introduced Galaxy AI with its latest flagship phones. Galaxy AI is a suite of innovative artificial intelligence and GenAI features. Samsung previously denied wider expansion to older models, but the Galaxy S22 series seems to be getting Galaxy AI features in the future.

According to Korea’s NewsIS, TM Roh, Samsung Mobile President, is reviewing the possibility of bringing their new Galaxy AI features to older phones, including the Galaxy S22 series.

During the 55th regular shareholders’ meeting, there was a question about why the Galaxy S22 (which has similar hardware to the S23 FE) was excluded from the AI update.

Newer models like the S23 and last year’s foldable phones will receive the AI upgrade, but Samsung is still deciding whether to give the update to even older models like the S22.

President Roh concluded by saying, “We are reviewing the possibility of applying Galaxy AI to previous models, but we need to make sure that the hardware can support the AI features well. We will make a decision after careful consideration.”

Well, galaxy AI features such as “Circle to Search,” “Note Assist,” and “Browsing Assist” to the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Flip/Fold5, and Tab S9 series starting later this month.
