WhatsApp for Android will soon get voice message transcriptions

WhatsApp for Android may soon receive a major update with voice message transcriptions. This development might finally take place a year after debuting on Apple’s iOS software system.

New strings discovered in WhatsApp indicate that the voice message transcriptions feature is under development. Once available, users will be able to read out what a voice message consists of, ending the need to hear aloud.

Leveraging Android’s speech recognition feature, WhatsApp will enable the voice message transcriptions feature. It will be greatly useful for users when they are in an area where they cannot play back a voice message.

Well, it might not always be completely accurate. If the recording’s length is less than 120 seconds, transcription will happen itself,  while you can do it manually on recordings that are longer than 2 minutes.
