Google Messages with Gemini AI is WOW: Here’s the first look

Google has been working to bring Gemini AI to the Messages app. In the latest build, AssembleDebug managed to access Gemini AI integration in Google Messages, a look at the functionality and how it works.

Gemini AI integration in Google Messages seems to be similar to Google for Android and website. Extensions like Gmail, Flights, Maps, and Workspace will also be supported on Android’s native messaging platform.

The features are not functional since Google Messages combined Gemini AI and related user interfaces. The next release is expected to bring more support for the functionality as Google progresses the development and testing.

It looks like Gemini integration in Messages will bring a significant push to the user experience. The app will now display relevant responses to particular reactions if you react with certain emojis.

Google’s powering AI capabilities into Messages for RCS chats. However, the conversation won’t be end-to-end encrypted as the company may need to process some user data to make responses better and relevant.
