Beyond Google’s Pixel Promise: Samsung confirms 8 years of Android updates for this Galaxy device

Samsung will now offer 8 years of Android updates to Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition. The company’s executive confirmed on LinkedIn that the Enterprise Edition is eligible for lengthy software support.

Google Pixel 8 series supports 7 years of Android and security updates. Samsung replicated the same software support for the S24 series. However, the company is going beyond its own promise made to the recent flagships.

The South Korean tech giant is upping the ante for owners of its latest enterprise edition tablet. The Galaxy Tab Active 5 Enterprise Edition tablet will receive eight years of updates, up to Android 11 in theory.

Notably, the standard variant is said to be supported by four OS updates and five years of security patches. Meanwhile, Enterprise Edition has got a major improvement over the initially claimed update pledge.
