Pixel Webcam feature gets HQ mode with Android 15 DP2

Google’s December 2023 Feature Drop brought the Webcam feature to Pixel devices. Now, Google brings a new HQ mode to the Pixel Webcam feature with the release of Android 15 Developer Preview 2.

According to the info, the Android 15 Developer Preview 2 update has a new HQ mode for the Pixel Webcam. HQ refers to High-Quality mode, significantly improving the picture quality offered on your Windows PC.

In DP2, Google has added a new HQ option to the webcam’s viewfinder in the top-left corner. Tapping the button will enable a High-Quality mode, significantly boosting the video quality without overheating the device.

MishaalRahman notes that Pixel phone will stream the video in Full HD resolution at 30fps. Also, it has been observed that Google managed to freeze the chances of device to overheat while being used as a PC webcam.
