Google Pixel seems to be a US favorite
Google is quite serious about its Pixel segment apart from other products. Thanks to constant efforts, Google Pixel is slowly but unquestionably expanding its presence in the US market, IDC report says.
According to IDC, in 2023, Google Pixel devices claimed 4.6% of the US market. In 2022, the company scored 3.6% market share, with last year’s share making it the fourth largest brand in America.
The Pixel maker is indeed far behind market leaders including Apple and Samsung. However, the way to gradual and constant improvements is paying off Google positively, with 10M+ units expected to sell in 2024 as well.
Google seems to be doing particularly well in unlocked handset sales, for which it accounts for 9% of total sales. However, the company still has a long way to go to compete with Apple and Samsung.
“Apple and Samsung continue strengthening their hold on the US smartphone market, with the two vendors combining for 74.2% of the market. This represents an all-time high market share for the two vendors.” – Anthony Scarsella, Research Director at IDC.
The USA #smartphone market saw a decline in 2023 of 6.9%, but Apple and Samsung remain the top two combining for 74.2% of the market.
