Google Chat grabs Voice Messages, transcription is on the way!

Google Chat app getting Voice Messages feature, with transcription is also on the way. The company officially introduced voice messages on Google Chat mobile, and support for the web version is coming soon.

Voice Messages feature on Google Chat is only available for Workspace consumers. Initially, Google announced the feature for paid Workspace consumers as personal accounts were not mentioned.

Sending a voice message enables you to save time, convey more info, and emphasize the most important data for the message receiver. Therefore, it will surely help Google Chat users communicate with others more effectively.

To record a voice message on your Android or iOS device, tap the microphone icon > start speaking > watch a live waveform to visualize your voice. A timer counts up so you know exactly how long you’ve been recording.

In addition, you can preview and then send your voice message or delete it and try again if needed. Voice messages can be interacted with (quoted, reacted to, replied to in a thread, etc.).
