Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 (April 2024) out w/ tons of bug fixes

Google released Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 with tons of bug fixes for Pixel devices. This release comes as a minor update to Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2, which was released last month.

The latest Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 update is available for Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet as well as Pixel 8 and 8 Pro.

Rather than the April 2024 patch, this incremental Beta keeps the security patch level to March 2024. The firmware’s build version is AP21.240305.005 and the Google Play Services version is 24.06.16.

If your Pixel is running QPR3 Beta 2, you will get an OTA to jump to Beta 2.1. The changes Google is testing through the QPR3 Beta Program will be reflected to general Pixel device users with the June 2024 Feature Drop.

Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 (April 2024) Changelog

This minor update to Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 includes the following fixes:

1. Fixed an issue that sometimes caused a device’s launcher to crash when trying to view recent apps.
2. Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented Pixel Tablet devices from charging while connected to the dock.
3. Fixed an issue where swiping up from the bottom of the screen didn’t always return to the home screen.
4. Fixed an issue that caused the layout of notifications on the lock screen to display with additional padding.
5. Fixed various issues that were causing frequent “Application not responding” errors for both system and user apps.
6. Fixed an issue where swiping down from the top of the screen didn’t always show the notification shade.
7. Fixed an issue for Pixel Fold devices where sometimes when the device was unfolded, only half of the inner screen displayed content.
8. Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented a user’s wallpaper settings from being backed up properly.
9. Fixed an issue that sometimes stopped the “Quick Tap to start actions” gesture from working.
10. Fixed various other issues that were impacting system stability, performance, connectivity, interactivity, and camera.
