Google releases April 2024 Pixel Update with Camera and Biometrics enhancements
Google phones started getting Android 14-based April 2024 Pixel Update. The firmware includes fixes for bugs related to Biometrics and Camera. It also addresses a severe issue on the Pixel 5a (5G) for seamless user experience.

What’s new for Pixel 8 & 8 Pro?
Google’s April 2024 update fixes the camera stability bug that haunts users when they switch between different zoom. The Black halo artifacts issue that appears upon switching from Photo to Video mode in 1x zoom is also addressed. Following the update, the ability to re-expose images will also become functional in the viewfinder.

While the latest Pixels are getting crucial bug fixes and enhancements, older Tensor-powered Pixel phones receive improvements for camera stability so users won’t face any kind of difficulties when switching between different zooms.
What’s new for Pixel 5a (5G)?
Google’s last Snapdragon-powered Pixle phone – Pixel 5a (5G) is also getting a fix for the Black screen problem which sometimes occurs while unlocking the device.
Our April software update begins rolling out today to all supported Pixel phones running #Android14. The update will continue over the next week and includes improvements to:
