Google releases Android 15 Beta 1: How to download and install
Google released Android 15 Beta 1 for Pixel phones, Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold. Compared to the Developer Preview, the Public Beta build is more stable and reliable. However, we recommend you opt for the Beta Program once it gets introduced at I/O 2024 next month.
If you’ve enrolled in the Android Beta Program, you will get the Android 15 Beta 1 over the air. Pixel users running the Beta version of Android 14 QPR3 also received an OTA update, which bumps the OS to v15 as well as the security patch to April 2024.

The first Beta doesn’t bring too many user-facing changes, except for revamped predictive back animation and apps to display edge-to-edge by default. We expect, Google may bring some major changes with the next major Beta update, which will release around I/O next month.
Android 15’s first Beta (AP31.240322.018) is available for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro. You can visit the Android Beta Program website to enroll for the Beta Program, apart from flashing the build through your PC.
How to sign up?
- Visit google.com/android/beta and “Opt in” on your selected device.
How to sideload?
- Download the needed files.
- Boot into Recovery mode.
- Navigate to ADB sideload.
- Connect the handset to a computer with ADB tools installed.
- Enter the sideload command.
- Reboot your phone.
