A new leak details the specifications of the Google Pixel 9’s Tensor G4 chipset. The company will launch three Pixel 9 models later this year. The devices are Pixel 9 (Tokay), Pixel 9 Pro (Caiman), and Pixel 9 Pro XL (Komodo).

The leak reveals the configuration of the 8-core Tensor G4 chipset. The chip reportedly consists of a Cortex-X4 core with a clock speed of 3.1 GHz, backed by three Cortex-A720 (2.6 GHz) and four Cortex-A520 (1.95 GHz) cores.

AnTuTu benchmark scores of all three Pixel 9 models have been revealed. The listing suggests a fruitful upgrade over the Pixel 8’s Tensor G3, but it is not a quite big or significant upgrade, in terms of performance.

AnTuTu benchmark scores:

Google Pixel 9 – 1,071,616
Google Pixel 9 Pro – 1,148,452
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL – 1,176,410

Do note that the official launch is yet to happen by Google. The company has much time for further optimization with software, resulting in even more enhanced performance and battery efficiency.

Meanwhile, the next year’s Pixel 10 series could bring Tensor G5 made by TSMC. Google has reportedly jumped to Taiwan’s TSMC for the fabrication of its next-generation Tensor processor.
