Android 15 to feature dynamic spatial audio over Bluetooth LE Audio
Android 15 update will bring the dynamic spatial audio feature over Bluetooth LE Audio. When enabled, Android 15’s Spatial Audio will deliver an immersive audio experience over paired compatible devices like Google’s Pixel Buds Pro.
At the I/O 2024 event, Google pledged to enable support for dynamic spatial audio over LE Audio in Android 15. This change is beneficial because LE Audio provides lower head-tracking latency and better bandwidth utilization for an even more immersive experience.
Following the announcement, Google would bring support for dynamic spatial audio in next Android update. It will unlock even more immersive spatial audio performance. Also, related elements will not compromise as much on latency and audio quality to save battery life.
Smartphones lag behind when it comes to providing immersive audio experience. Due to hardware limitations, mobile devices are not capable of offering TV or theatre-like audio. However, this can be solved with spatial audio-compatible accessories.
