Google Play Store will auto open apps after install
Google Play Store is testing a minor yet noticeable change in functionality. Developers are working to deploy a feature on the Google Play Store, that will automatically open the app as soon as the installation is completed.
Currently, Google Play Store allows you to uninstall the app, open it, or stay in the marketplace. AndroidAuthority spotted in Play Store’s version 41.4.19 that a new feature called App Auto Open is on the cards.
As the name suggests, the feature will automatically open the app immediately after completion of installation. Users will get a notification when the feature activates that will appear as a banner across the top of the screen.
Play Store is expected to add is enabled by default as anyone installs the app to use it, not for storing. However, users will always have the option to disable the auto app open feature to stop the automatic launch trigger.
Currently, the feature hasn’t yet been rolled out to general users. It is under development and accessed with the help of flags code changes. It will roll out after the completion of the testing phases and the Beta channel.
