YouTube might get AI live chat summaries, Google Lens search
YouTube might soon get a handful of new features such as AI live chat summaries and Google Lens search. Developers continue to explore ways to improve the user experience, with a set of new features on the cards.
AI live chat summaries
YouTube is reportedly testing AI-generated live chat summaries. Powered by AI, live chat summaries will save you a lot of time by analyzing the live chat and giving you a summary of how the conversation is going.
Currently, this feature is available to a small percentage of users. It will also only work with live streams in English and only for lives with “super active live chat conversations.”
Google Lens search
Google Lens search feature is also reportedly coming to YouTube in the future. It is slated to allow you to use Google Lens to take a picture of a real-life item, and it will look up related content on YouTube.
Aside from these two features, a number of changes and new tools are under testing. The platform is also working on the ability to make and publish their own effects directly to YouTube Shorts.
