YouTube app will soon get a sleep timer feature on Android devices. The latest Beta version of the app has some clues indicating the development of sleep timer functionality is in development.

AndroidAuthority discovered that YouTube is working on sleep timer features on Android. At present, the application lacks this useful feature, but it won’t remain the same case in the near future.

When activated, the sleep timer feature automatically stops the music streaming. It’s a quite useful feature if you love listening to songs late at night, and fall asleep without stopping the playback on the streaming app.

YouTube for Android version 19.25.33 has references to sleep timer functionality. When available, the feature could allow you to specify the hours and/or minutes left until playback stops.

Once done, the timer will be displayed as a notification until it gets triggered. Similar to an alarm clock, you will have a pre-prompt right before the playback stops so you can skip it and enjoy uninterrupted listening.
