Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL compared side-by-side in a leaked video
Before the official launch, someone just leaked videos showing very early versions of the Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro XL phones. These videos were posted on TikTok by a user named “Pixophone” (spotted by YTechB).
The phones in the videos are prototype units. But they’re pretty close to the final design since they already have the Google logo. The videos also show stickers covering up a special pattern that might be on the final phones.
One interesting difference is the material on the back. The smaller Pixel 9 seems to have a shiny back that shows fingerprints easily, while the bigger Pixel 9 Pro XL has a matte back that hides fingerprints better. However, the sides of the phones are reversed – the shiny metal sides are on the matte Pixel 9 Pro XL and the less-shiny sides are on the glossy Pixel 9. It’s also not clear if the markings seen on the side of these phones will be on the final version sold in the US.
The videos also show the size difference between the two Pixel phones. The Pixel 9 is expected to have a 6.24-inch screen, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is expected to have a bigger 6.73-inch screen.
There’s another video that compares the Pixel 9 Pro XL to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, which has an even bigger 6.8-inch screen. This video gives a good look at the large camera bump on the back of the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
