Top 3 Key Points:

  1. Google Discover might soon suggest movies and TV shows based on your interests.
  2. The new “Theft Detection” feature in Android locks stolen phones automatically.
  3. Enhanced security features protect your data even if your device is reset.

Google has been enhancing its Discover feature, now renamed “Your Space,” by adding useful cards with day-to-day information. A recent leak suggests that Google may introduce a new card in Discover that recommends movies and TV shows you might enjoy, based on your preferences.

This potential “TV and Movies” card is currently in development, as seen in the latest Google app beta. Although it’s not fully functional yet, the card is expected to display key details like movie titles, duration, posters, and viewing platforms, with TV show details to follow. As with other cards, you can easily disable this feature through “Your Space” settings.

In addition to these updates, Google has begun rolling out a “Theft Detection” feature for Android devices in Brazil. This feature uses the phone’s accelerometer and AI to detect if a phone has been stolen. If suspicious movements are detected, the phone will lock itself to prevent unauthorized access. Even if the thief tries to reset the device, they won’t be able to set it up without your Google account credentials. Moreover, features like Offline Device Lock and Private Space add extra layers of security to protect your data, ensuring peace of mind even if your device is stolen.

These features are rolling out to all Android devices running Android 10 or newer, further enhancing security and user protection across the platform.
