Google reduces active band colors as Pixel Watch 3 launch approaches

In an unexpected move, Google has reduced the color options for its Pixel Watch Active Band as the Pixel Watch 3 launch nears. Previously, a wide variety of colors were available for the band, which has been a default choice since the Pixel Watch series began. However, with the upcoming Pixel Watch 3, Google has narrowed the options significantly.
The Active Band, priced at $49, was initially available in several colors. But now, Google’s store only offers four color choices: Obsidian, Hazel, Rose Quartz, and Porcelain. These colors come in both small and large sizes, except for the Rose Quartz, which is only available for the smaller 41mm size.
Several colors, including Bay, Lemongrass, and Charcoal, have been removed from Google’s store this year. Last year, the pure white “Chalk” was also replaced by the slightly off-white “Porcelain.” While these changes may limit choices, some of the discontinued colors are still available through third-party retailers like Amazon, often at a discount compared to Google’s official pricing.
It’s worth noting that the bands are not interchangeable between the 41mm and 45mm sizes. So, if you’re opting for the larger 45mm model, your color choices are limited to Hazel, Obsidian, and Porcelain.
The Pixel Watch 3 is currently available for pre-order and is expected to ship in September.
