Key Points:

  • Google Phone is testing a new incoming call interface.
  • The new design replaces the draggable button with separate “Answer” and “Decline” buttons.
  • The update is currently available to a limited number of users.

Google is giving its Phone app a makeover with a new incoming call screen. Instead of the familiar draggable button to answer or decline calls, the updated design features dedicated “Answer” and “Decline” buttons. This change brings Google Phone in line with the iPhone’s dialer and other Android OEMs like Samsung.

The new interface is visually cleaner and more intuitive, making it easier to quickly answer or reject incoming calls. The green “Answer” button is located on the right side of the screen, while the red “Decline” button is on the left. Additionally, there’s a quick “Message” toggle for sending a text message without answering the call.

The updated Google Phone app with the new incoming call UI is currently available to a limited number of users. If you haven’t received it yet, you can check for updates in the Google Play Store.
