Google updates Pixel Camera with new patch
Google has just released an update for the Pixel Camera app, version 9.7.047.710329721.21, through the Play Store. This update doesn’t bring any new features that you can see right away; it seems to be more about fixing any bugs that were bothering users.
Back in December 2024, Google introduced a major update with version 9.7, which included some cool new features like Quick Access Controls. These controls let you adjust the white balance, brightness, and shadows directly from the sides of the screen when you tap on the viewfinder. However, these were features from an earlier design and need to be turned on through the settings.
The December Feature Drop didn’t talk about these controls. Instead, it focused on some other camera enhancements, like adding a fun “Made You Look” feature for the Pixel Fold and introducing a new character from the movie “Inside Out” for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Both of these phones also got a new Dual Screen Portrait Mode, making the most of their foldable screens.
Beyond the Pixel Camera, there have been some nice additions to other apps. Instagram now supports Ultra HDR, giving your photos more vivid colors and contrast, and Snapchat has updated to work better with the system’s Photo Picker.
We might see a bigger update to the Pixel Camera as soon as the next Pixel Feature Drop, which is expected in March 2025. If you’ve noticed any fixes or improvements since updating, let us know in the comments!
