Earn more Google Play credits by sharing more data
Google Opinion Rewards is an app for Android that lets you earn Google Play credits by filling out surveys. These surveys are often based on where you’ve been recently, thanks to your phone’s location history. The whole idea behind the app is to exchange your data and opinions for rewards, but it looks like Google might want you to share even more information now.
The newest update of the app, version v2025012701, includes a new option called “Enable Personalized Ads.” If you turn this on, you could get more surveys. Here’s how it works:
When you click “Turn On,” it takes you to the Google Ad Center website. There, you can see what kinds of data are used to make the ads you see more personal.
This isn’t new information about how Google collects data, but if you decide to turn it on, the ads you see on Google’s apps and websites will match your interests better.
The big reward for sharing this extra data is that you might get more surveys in Google Opinion Rewards. This could mean more Google Play credits for you. Even if you usually keep personalized ads off, this might make you think twice about sharing more data.
However, it’s not totally clear if more personalized ads will always mean more surveys. Sometimes, making things more personal can mean fewer options if there aren’t many surveys that fit your profile. Maybe Google just wants more of your data, and the small amount they pay for surveys is just part of their plan to make ads better everywhere online.
