Fitbit app now lets you watch workouts on your TV again

The Fitbit app has brought back a much-loved feature that lets you watch workout videos on your TV. After taking it away at the end of last year, the newest updates to the app have now fixed this. Workout videos are a great tool for keeping fit, especially when you can see them on a bigger screen like your TV. It was annoying when the Fitbit app stopped letting you do this back in December 2024.

Good news though – the feature is back! With the most recent update to the Fitbit app, you can once again use Google Cast to send workout videos from your phone or tablet to your TV. Look for the little Cast icon in the corner of the video when you’re ready to start exercising.

We noticed this change with version 4.35 of the Fitbit app for Android. Google has also mentioned on their forums that this version should bring back the casting feature, so make sure your app is up to date if you haven’t seen the change yet.

From what we can see, casting works just like before without any new bells or whistles. There were talks about Google TV having more Fitbit features, but that hasn’t happened yet, even after more than two years. So, if you’ve been missing your workout sessions on the big screen, check your app for updates and get back to exercising with the comfort and convenience of your TV.
