Check out new voice options for Google Search’s upcoming AI feature
Google is building an exciting AI Mode for its Search tool, designed to make searching feel more like a chat. This new feature will let you use your voice to search and even ask extra questions to narrow down what you’re looking for, similar to Gemini Live. The company has been testing it behind the scenes, and now we’ve found clues that it might come with fresh voice choices.
With AI Mode, you won’t just talk to search—you’ll hear the results too, making it hands-free. Google recently added four new voices in the latest Android beta version of its app (16.7.21). These previews show they’re built for AI Mode’s voice search, and they’re not the same as the Gemini voices you might already know.
We also noticed an updated settings page for voice search. It includes a “Spoken results” switch you can turn on if you want the app to read answers out loud. Plus, there are four voice styles to pick from: Jungle, Lime, Royal, and Sapphire.
So far, Google hasn’t spilled the beans about this AI Mode for Search, but it looks like beta testing could kick off soon. We’re excited to give it a spin and will keep you posted the moment it’s available on the beta channel. Stay tuned!
